Around the house

Matt left this week for a business trip. I'm feeling a little blah...mainly because I feel like I've graduated from "pregnant" to "giant-beached-whale-that-can't-breathe." This was the scene after breakfast on Monday when Matt left for Indiana. Dishes. They do not make me happy.

Sammy and Claire went to their 5 and 7-year old doctor visits last week and the doctor thought Sammy's cough sounded "wheezy" so he's been on an inhaler for a few days until he gets better. I do feel sorry for the poor kid, but I have to admit that the ducky inhaler makes me laugh every time I see it.

Another thing keeping me happy: our 33 week ultrasound picture. Although, I have to admit, her lips and nose look a little, well, elongated? I'm thinking maybe the picture was taken while she was moving and it blurred it a little. I think.

Our fireplace is still a work in progress, but I had to get a screen for it when I saw this one at the salvation army (and the matching tools) for $10. I'll have to get a safer one when the baby starts walking I guess, but for now, I kinda like it.

I love looking at Buzz in my shower every day.

And his friends.

And I forgot to show you that I painted a brown bookshelf  (that used to be in my mud room) with white paint and put it in Claire's room. She had a white one already, but this one was bigger. She's getting quite a collection of chapter books.

Matt and I made this little kitchen for Claire a few Christmases ago, but it isn't played with very often anymore which makes me a little sad. It's funny how big she has gotten since we made it. She has to walk on her knees to play with it, so it will probably have to go to the basement for a while soon...
...because it's sitting in the little niche of Claire's room where the baby crib will go. This makes me happy and sad at the same time. I guess it's the natural progression of life. One of my babies is getting too big for her "baby stuff" and one is getting ready for baby stuff!

Speaking of baby stuff, good friends are dropping off clothes and things for us to borrow for our new baby girl and they are fun to look at as well. Sammy likes to go through them and say how cute they are. Isn't that precious?

My mom sent me some swaddle blankets that she made for our baby. After we have this baby girl, I'll have to teach you all about swaddling if you've never learned the technique before. Matt and I always make our babies into total burritos out of these big blankets because it helps them sleep so well.

So here I am at 34 weeks pregnant. Well, 33 and a half.

Goodbye toes!
